Oops, gotta go! A good time is calling...
It's another busy week in Brissy, and we're just bouncing off the walls from excitement (and too much caffeine). We've got heaps of new tasty treats and fun activities you should be checking out. So let the good times roll and immerse yourself in some good food, great drinks, and sick pics for Instagram.
Cool but unusual activities to try
Sport a New Sport This New Year
Let’s be honest, a keen interest in all things “sport” and strong, athletic genes weren’t exactly dished out equally for a lot of us. Where my family is full of cricket stars and rugby playing extraordinaires, an athletic milestone for me is a lap around my house on a warm day – so close to hot yoga it hurts!
Luckily for those of us who aren’t so graced with nimble limbs and a predisposition for “running around” there are plenty of other clubs, hobbies, sports and games out there that are just as interesting and about ten times cooler. Here’s just a few ideas to get you started this year.
AFL Street Party at Story Bridge Hotel
Flights to Melbourne have thoroughly sold out, but luckily for AFL fans the next best thing is celebrating the Grand Final under the Bridge.
Story Bridge Hotel is hosting a massive street party this Saturday, 3 October. Kicking off from 11am with promotions and pre-game activity by Carlton Draught, head in early to start the fun and get warmed up before the match.

Hear the the Lions Roar 4th April
Any true Brisbanite will recognise the unmistakeable outline of 'The Gabba', and know that between April and September, it’s the only place to be to watch the high energy, edge-of-seat suspense, and mind-blowing action only a game of AFL can bring.
Footy Fever at The Gabba
There’s any number of good pubs, restaurants and places to avoid the in-laws near the GABBA for a pre-game rendezvous.
At the Lions’ first game of the season, for me it was the Chalk Hotel. There’s more TVs than a wet dream and they are all showing the footy.
And you’re looking forward to the footy, surrounded by people looking forward to the footy. Everyone’s in a bloody good mood. Makes for a bloody good atmosphere.
