Local Bands | Meet Amy Sheppard
You might already know them from their debut studio album, ‘Bombs Away’, peaking at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, or heard about their second single, "Geronimo", which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified 5× platinum. It's none other than our fave local band, Sheppard! The indie pop band was formed in 2009 from our very own city here in Brisbane, Australia, consisting of George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard, Emma Sheppard and Jay Bovino, Michael Butler and Dean Gordon.
In 2018, the band went back to their roots and made most of the second album ‘Watching The Sky’ at home in Brisbane. With their efforts paying off, they were rewarded with their second album landing at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The band has been busy refining their identity and defining what they represent in the Australian music scene aiming to leave a unique footprint on the Australian music industry while doing so. Get to know 27-year-old Amy Sheppard, the middle sibling of older brother George and younger sister Emma.
